D'alembert Betting System
Roulette game caught people's attention since the very moment of its invention. Some players liked to play the game to try ones luck whereas others tried out different roulette betting strategies. One of the most famous systems is known as D'Alembert system according to the name of its creator, a famous French mathematicians Jean le Rond D'Alembert. The strategy is considered to be created in the middle of 18th century.
D'Alembert betting strategy is also known as the Pyramid system due to the course of the betting process according to it.
How the D'Alembert system works
D'Alembert system is considered to be useful for even bets such as even/odd or high/low numbers and black/red. The most important thing is to know how to place bets so to increase the chances for winning.
The main point of the D'Alembert system is to subtract or add 1 unit after every bet. It is kind of similar to Martingale betting system but the risk or meeting the table maximum limit is definitely lower.
D'Alembert system says to place bets in such way: the player must add one unit to the bet in case of the loss and subtract one unit in case of winning. Let's, for example, place $10 bet on one of the outside bets. The possible scheme of betting according to D'Alembert system will look like this:
$10 - loss - $11 - loss - $12 - loss - $13 - win - $12 - win - $11 - loss - $12 and so on. Some players like to risk more and add or subtract two units instead of one.
Understanding the ineffectiveness of the D'Alembert system
Having a close look at the betting net and at general idea of the system, it can be seen that it has a huge amount of weak points:
- D'Alembert system has simply the false logic as every spin of the roulette wheel is an independent even with no impact on the next spins!
- No assumptions can be made after winning or losing in roulette, as if a player loses it does not mean he will win after. The same with the winning bet.
- The probabilities of winning in roulette are the SAME no matter the amount of spin or the won or lost bets.
All these facts prove that the chances of winning in roulette by means of some betting strategies are the same as playing simply relying on ones luck.
